The Hand in Hand training is an opportunity for parents, caregivers and professionals who care for and support those who have received or suspect a fetal alcohol diagnosis, to come together and learn about FASD in a supportive and informal setting. Topics include:

FASD: The Basics
Understanding the unique strengths and challenges of a child with this disability, with emphasis on how the brain is impacted, including an introduction to Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

FASD at Home
What is sensory integration dysfunction? These disorders are related to many behavioral issues. What can you do to support your child’s sensory challenges?

FASD at School
Learn how schools assess, test and determine eligibility. How to create a supportive educational environment including special education access and rights.

Building Strong Families
Grief and loss issues around FASD will be discussed along with suggestions on how to develop your support and resource network. Characteristics of resilient families will be presented.

Hand-in-Hand training part 1 will be offered in 5 locations throughout the state in a Super Saturday format.
Hand-in-Hand part 2 will be offered in 1 location.  The following is a list of locations and registration details:
