Guardianship & Alternatives a Virtual Family Center Chat
Back by popular demand, staff from the Center for Excellence in Supported Decision Making at Volunteers of America MN will lead a discussion on options for supporting your child with an FASD into adulthood when it comes to money management and other areas of decision making. With FASD, balancing the goals of supporting your child’s self-determination with safety can become complicated. Join us to discuss your options, from informal support to supplemental needs trusts to guardianship. There is no one-size-fits-all answer; this session is intended to give you and your child the information you need to figure out what’s right for you.
This is a Facebook Live event, and you will have a chance to discuss your questions with the presenter and each other. To join the chat, go to the MOFAS Virtual Family Center at https://www.facebook.com/groups/MOFASVFC/. This is a closed Facebook group for parents and caregivers of people with a known or suspected FASD in Minnesota. Others on Facebook will not be able to view your questions or any discussion related to this chat unless they are members of the closed group. If you’re not already a member of the group, please request to be added to the group at least an hour ahead of time so admin has time to accept your request.
